Only 22 countries have never been invaded by #Britain

Source: https://www.statista.com/chart/3441/countries-never-invaded-by-britain/
According to the book "All the Countries We’ve Ever Invaded: And the Few We Never Got Round To", there are only 22 countries Britain never invaded throughout history. There aren't many gaps on the map, but some of the more notable include #Sweden, #Belarus and #Vatican City. The biggest blank spots can be seen on the African continent, even though the Royal African Company founded in 1660 alone was responsible for forcibly removing 212,000 slaves from their homeland and shipping them to English colonies in the Americas between 1662 and 1731.

ok this is a bit of statistical propaganda.

1) Australia was never “invaded”, it was DISCOVERED by Britain first, it wasn’t pretty and the AU gov has to constantly apologize for it’s past cruelties.

2) they would have never invaded Germany first, the beer is good, but just not their cup of tea

3) fun fact: ever wondered where the term https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Saxons came from?

Today Britain (up to Scotland) is actually inhabited by 2/3 by former SAXONS!!! (North German tribe)

The British invited the Saxons to fight against nordic tribes (Scottish).

Which worked.

But after that, the Saxons decided to stay and fought the British and drove them almost off the cliffs.

The only “original” British left are the Welsh.

End of history lesson.

1) So Australia and the British is a typical chicken and egg problem?
2) Are the British also responsible for every U.S. war because the U.S. was a former British colony?

Having just watched a 24 part lecture on the history of Britain from the fall of Rome until the Norman conquest, I have to say your four sentence summary leaves out quite a bit of the story :P

When Britain and other countries invaded France on D-Day, was that counted?

Is colonization counted as invasion? What about the colonization of Britain by the people who later became the English?

What about the colonization of Britain by the people who later became the English?

That was clearly not a country being invaded by Britain.

Yes okay, apologies, unlike in #StarTrek, discovery in those times basically meant conquest: kill or enslave and take their gold.
that’s when wild men meet “civilization” hurray!
@Brian Ó please enlight us!
(not an expert on British history X-D imho what happened in the past seems often not to be reported accurately… )
Let’s just say: Saxons meaning: Long Knife? (correct or not?)
were and still are a pretty dangerous aggressive and ruthless (?) tribe.
