I rarely post anything on Facebook, but I published this post there. And yesterday, my account was blocked, supposedly because I accessed data that I don't have access to, or I copied some data. I don't see any REAL reasons, except for this post. A coincidence?
#Subscription and rental models have been aggressively promoted as necessary for #businesses to make a profit. But recent events have shown us the negative consequences of turning big tech into mere weapons, affecting unwanted groups and even entire countries.
The #COVID-19 #pandemic and the #war in #Ukraine have revealed how governments can use these technologies as tools to control and manipulate populations. Anything can be shut down for anyone - their car, bank account, software, and even their motorcycle safety vest.
So, to the advocates of #copyright and property rights, is this really what you're willing to accept? Are you willing to deprive consumers of their #property rights in exchange for corporate control? It's time to rethink the balance between corporate interests and consumer #rights.
